About RegsChange

Since 2018, the ILRC has convened a regulations working group (known as the Regs Group) and listserv, the goals of which are to educate the advocacy community about immigration regulations and coordinate administrative advocacy within the immigrant rights community. Through regular conversations with partners, the need for continued community education has surfaced, especially as the immigrant rights community continues to grow and ally itself with new partners, emerging organizations, and new leaders.

Given the robust engagement from immigration legal advocacy organizations, ILRC launched RegsChange, - a “one stop shop” or “hub” - where advocates and the general public can find resources and information about how to use the regulatory process to advocate for their communities and make change. Currently, no centralized resource exists to make immigration regulations accessible and to encourage the general public to engage with this process to make their voices heard. 

RegsChange serves community members that have much to offer by way of public comment, but who do not always have the capacity or ability to submit a comment. The purpose of RegsChange is to make the regulatory process more accessible, transparent, and easier to navigate for directly impacted organizations, communities, and individuals.
